ABOUT DASH
Dash Hobbeheydar was born into a family of artists in Muncie, Indiana on January 3, 1968. His great grandfather is the celebrated Russian ballet dancer, author & Magician Magid Rezvani. His Grand Uncle (Magid's son) is Serge Rezvani, artist, author, poet, & song writer, most notably known for his milestone musical performance in the classic film Jules & Jim. Both were awarded the French Legion D'Honneur medal for their contributions to French culture. Dash's father is the noted Iranian-American artist & printmaker Shahrokh Rezvani now residing in Scottsdale, Arizona. His mother is the pioneering London based photographer Christine Voge. Dash was surrounded by accomplished artists & photographers throughout his childhood and was fortunate to witness many of them in their creative process in his fathers studio where he is now producing extensively himself. Among the many artists were Fritz Shoulder, Robert McCall, Arthur Secunda, Dale Chihuly, James Havard, Paul Jenkins, Lamar Briggs, Gustavo Ramos Rivera, and many more. Photographers include Dash's stepfather Sigurd Bo Bojesen and Magnum photographers Abbas and Peter Marlow to name a few. Dash has travelled extensively through Europe, being London England was his primary home during his youth. Dash received a major part of his education in England. He resided in Iran from 1975 to 1977 and has made Arizona his home since 1986.
